Yacht Expo will be a part of China International Consumer Goods Fair (CICGF) for the first time. The event, under the name of “CICGF”First Ningbo International Yacht Expo, will be held at Ningbo Grand Opera along waterfront outside the fair venue, at the same time as the 6th CICGF from June 8th to 12th, 2007.
Preparation for the expo started late last year. Famous yacht brands and yacht clubs both in and out China have been invited. Up to date, Alpha Yacht from Norway, Quinterx from Australia, Mercury and Speedo Marine Yachts from USA, Zhong Peng Yacht from Taiwan, Kinghwan Yacht from Ningbo with Australian design, etc. have applied to attend. Australian Trade commission will organize yacht manufacturers from Australia to visit the expo and have their yachts shown there. A seminar on yacht development in China will be held in the meantime. The gross exhibition ***ce will be 6000 sqm.
There are several advantages for holding the yacht expo in Ningbo:
l Geographical advantage, with hundreds of islands off Zhejiang coast and many bays and waterways around. The Americans have chosen Xiangshan Bay and have started construction of a first-class yacht marina. Fengjing Bay Resort Base is also being constructed. Other marina projects are coming.
l Grand potential consuming market. Here is one of the richest regions in China with the most flourishing private economy, where the entrepreneurs could afford the luxurious boats, used as a convenient platform both for work and for leisure.
l Yacht manufacturing base. Some foreign and domestic yacht building co***nies are already manufacturing varieties of yachts around Ningbo, in Zhejiang Province and in Yangtze River Delta.
